Piped Type, a Typography Served winning, typographic exploration creating a typeface from found materials. I discovered, after a trip to the hardware store that these copper pipes could be interlocked to form every letter in the alphabet.
After creating all of the letterforms, and scanning them in, it was time to explore redrawing them digitally. Looking into the subtle ways a smaller, wider or rounded edge impacted legibility.
